Medela Freestyle

Introducing our newest breakthrough — Freestyle is our first hands-free, double-electric pump. It’s the performance you expect from Medela in an innovative pump that fits in the palm of your hand and includes thoughtful features that provide true mobility, freedom and flexibility. Inspired by pumping moms… freedom is born. What is 2-Phase Expression® technology? Through research, Medela learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed. The Stimulation Phase is fast and light sucking to start milk flowing followed by the Expression Phase, slow and stronger sucking to deliver more milk faster. The Freestyle breastpump includes exclusive 2-Phase Expression technology that mimics a baby's natural nursing pattern.

Mummy's Story #1

I have a great time talking about breastfeeding with my customer driving all the way from JB to Melaka last weekend. Yes. I always love to share about breastfeeding if anyone willing to talk with me!!! Her lovely little girl is 5 months old and has a pair of bright eyes!! She told me that she decided to get herself a double electric pump although her little girl already 5 months old because single electric pump that she is using now is taking her time at least 30 minutes at work for each pump session. I excitedly agreed with her view and told her that double electric pump REALLY SAVES your valuable time at work! You finish pumping session at 20 minutes the most. Great, isn't it? She also shared with me that the main reason she chose to breastfeed is her little girl is allergy to formula milk. She had tried few brands of formula milk but too bad none of them suit this little girl. Red rashes appeared all over her body. Hence, she determined to breastfeed as she knows that breastmilk is the best that mum can provide to her little one. Breastmilk does not caused allergy. Breastmilk is the most suitable and the composition of the nutrition is adjusted according to your baby's needs. You will never go wrong with breastmilk!

Breastfeeding Benefits

Breastfeeding is one of the most natural and beneficial activities for mother and baby. There is no other single action by which a mother can so dramatically impact the present and future health of her baby.

No formula can duplicate the unique properties of breastmilk, no matter how many vitamins, minerals and supplements are added to what is basically a chemical formulation.

Breastmilk is the one and only natural, complete and complex nutrition for human infants. Just as importantly, breastfeeding promotes an exceptional bond between mother and baby that only a mother can provide.

Advantages for the baby

• Breastmilk contains all your baby needs: proteins, fats, lactose, vitamins, iron, minerals, water and enzymes in the exact amounts required for the optimal growth and development.
• Breastfed babies are healthier. Breastmilk contains substances which prevent harmful bacteria from growing in intestines and causing gastrointestinal and diarrhoeal infections.
• Breastfed babies have fewer middle ear infections, fewer respiratory infections and a decreased risk of developing allergies, cancer, childhood diabetes and obesity.
• Breastfed babies have a decreased risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
• Breastfeeding a premature baby decreases his risk to develop necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC).
• Breastmilk is clean, free from bacteria and has anti-infective properties.
• Breastmilk has the right temperature and needs no preparation. It is readily available whenever your baby needs it.
• Breastfed babies are less prone to develop diabetes, heart diseases, eczema, asthma and other allergic disorders later in life.
• Breastfeeding enhances brain development. Research shows there is better visual development and visual acuity in breastfed children.
• Breastfeeding is more than just food. It enhances the emotional bond between the child and the mother and provides warmth, love and affection.

Advantages for the mother

• Breastfeeding reduces post-delivery bleeding and chances of anaemia.
• Nursing the baby helps the mother regain her normal figure.
• Breastfeeding delays the return of fertility.
• Breastfeeding has a protective effect against several types of cancer such as breast cancer or ovarian cancer, and against osteoporosis.
• Breastfeeding mothers often experience an increased self confidence and a better adjustment with their babies.
• Breastmilk is readily available and saves energy, time and money.
• Breastfed babies are healthier so their mothers will have less absenteeism from their workplace.
